Dora Hovis
Dora Beth Hovis, 48, of St. Petersburg, Clarion County, passed away Monday, March 10, 2025, from injuries she sustained in a motor vehicle accident on Route 38 in Butler County.
Dora was born in Franklin on Dec. 1, 1976. She was the daughter of Donna Kagle Barlett of Parker and the late William “Bill” Barlett.
She grew up in Emlenton and St. Petersburg before moving to Knox. She graduated in 1995 from Keystone High School. Dora had most recently been employed as an in-home caregiver to Mr. Lindsley Dunn of Emlenton. Dora was a homebody. She loved her dogs, Tinkerbell, Booger and Tank; and spending time outside and keeping busy with projects around the house; collecting stones for crafting and volunteering with Passion for Vets. She looked forward to vacationing with her family.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Ronald Hovis; three sons, Aaron Stephens and Adam Hook, both of St. Petersburg, and Ryan Hook of Knox; a sister, Melinda L. Swick of Elwood City; a number of aunts and uncles, who loved her dearly, as well as her nieces, nephews and cousins; two stepdaughters and their husbands, Elisha and Jim, and Tabby and Joe; and a number of stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents.
HOVIS — Friends of Dora Beth Hovis, who died Monday, March 10, 2025, will be received from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at HILE FUNERAL HOME, 802 Grove St., St. Petersburg. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 3 p.m.
