Anthony

It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Jason E. Anthony on Saturday, March 1, 2025, of natural causes.

Born Jan. 2, 1973, in Butler, he was the son of Theodore E. and Bette Ann (Sokol) Anthony.

Jason was a 1991 graduate of Butler High School, and then went on to earn his Bachelor of Business degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He was employed by Sprint for many years, and most recently worked for the Office of Personnel Management.

Jason's passion in life was playing the drums; whether it was with “Minds I” or in other various bands. Rumor has it, he's playing a gig in heaven right now! He had a heart of gold, and was always the man who was willing to help anyone who needed it, a trait that made his family very proud. More than anything, Jason loved his family and friends, and kept his witty sense of humor up until the very end.

Jason is survived by his parents, Theodore E. “Ted” and Bette Ann Anthony of Butler; his uncle, Daniel John Anthony of Havelock, N.C.; his aunt, Vicki Sokol of Minneapolis, Minn.; his loving and faithful dog, Jersey; and numerous extended family and wonderful friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Delbert and Hazel Anthony and Frank and Mary Louise Sokol; as well as his beloved dogs, Bailey and Copper.

ANTHONY — To honor and celebrate his life, the family of Jason E. Anthony, who died Saturday, March 1, 2025, asks you to join them from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2025, at First Church — Crossfire, 1802 N. Main St. Ext., Butler, to visit and share fun stories of Jason. A celebration of life service will begin at 1 p.m. with Pastor David Janz officiating.
