Butler License Center hosting REAL ID Day Feb. 24

There are only a few weeks left until the mandatory May 7 deadline for all Americans to carry a REAL ID to board a commercial flight. In response, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is hosting a series of REAL ID Day events on Monday, Feb. 24 at PennDOT License Centers across the state, including the Butler License Center at Point Plaza in Butler Township.

REAL ID Day will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, when license centers are usually closed. During this time, only REAL ID orders will be conducted.

However, residents can apply for a REAL ID any time the license center is open, up to and after the day of the enforcement deadline of May 7.

Residents will need to bring some documents to have their REAL ID processed. A list of documents is available at PennDOT’s REAL ID website.
