Raymond F. Gallagher, of Butler, passed away Sunday, Feb. 16, 2025.

He was born Sept. 3, 1933, to Henry C. Gallagher and Cecelia Kriley Gallagher.

He was married to Beverly “Bea” Paulsen Gallagher on Oct. 12, 1954, at St. Mary’s in Herman, Pa.

He retired from Armco in 1996, after 30 years of working in the processing maintenance department. Prior to working at Armco, he worked for his brother-in-law, Wendell Smith, at the family farm.

After retirement, he and Bea spent 20 winters in Sun City, Ariz. There he loved lawn bowling, 10 pin bowling, water volleyball, playing cards and enjoying the neighborhood parties. He also enjoyed camping, shooting trap and hunting. In his spare time, he volunteered for B.A.E.A. at bingo and other activities.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, seven grandchildren, and six great-granddaughters. Bruce Gallagher (Carol), Amy Buchwald (Matt), Nadia Buchwald, Lisa Jimenez (Donovan) and Bree Jimenez; Kevin Gallagher (Melissa) and Brian Gallagher; Dale Gallagher (Cheryl), Jason Gallagher (Michelle), Ryleigh Gallagher, Samantha Gallagher Schultheis (Shane), Kendale and June Schultheis; Vaughn Gallagher (Darline), Abby Gallagher Zwick (Christian), Esme Zwick and Erica Gallagher Patton (Nathan). In addition, countless nieces, nephews, and his furry chair companion, Sophie, survive.

He was preceded in death by sisters, Mildred Godot (Reges), Ruth Smith (Wendell) and Dorothy Mae Fennell; and brothers, Lewis Gallagher (Mary Lou), Clair Gallagher and Richard Gallagher (Pauline); one niece and two nephews.

GALLAGHER — Friends of Raymond F. Gallagher, who died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2025, will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, at GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. A blessing service will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Herman.
