Paul Rettig
Paul A. Rettig, 95, of Meridian, passed away peacefully on Friday, Feb. 14, 2025, at his residence.
He was born on Jan. 28, 1930, in Brady Township, Clarion County, to the late Charles and Bertha (Sayers) Rettig.
Paul worked as a barber in Butler and Oakland Township, he also worked for Pullman Standard, as well as for the Butler Area School District maintenance department, where he worked until retiring in June of 1994. Paul was a longtime member of the North Main Street Church of God, where he served as an usher. He was also a member of the Keenagers Sunday school class and the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees. He enjoyed woodworking, traveling, golfing and spending time with his loving family.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Gladys M. (McKinnis) Rettig, whom he married on July 25, 1959; his son, Duane P. Rettig; his daughter, Sharil R. (Steven) Claudy; his grandchildren, Andrew (Stephanie) Claudy, Kathryn (Alex) Watt and Wesley Claudy; his great-grandson, James Claudy; as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his brothers, John Rettig, Charles Rettig, Leo Rettig, James Rettig, Joseph Rettig and David Rettig; as well as by his sisters, Mary Reiner and Elizabeth Rettig.
RETTIG — Family and friends of Paul A. Rettig, who died Friday, Feb. 14, 2025, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 20 at the funeral home, with Pastor Brandon Lenhart, of North Main Street Church of God, officiating.
Interment will take place in Hillview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Paul’s name may be made to North Main Street Church of God, 1201 N. Main Street Ext. Butler, PA 16001, northmaincog.org.
