Marilyn ‘Jeanie’ McBride

Marilyn J. “Jeanie” McBride, 86, of Butler, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2024, at West Penn Hospital.

Born July 12, 1938, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Wallace Sedoris Sr. and the late Agnes (Bachman) Sedoris.

Jeanie was a 1956 graduate of Butler High School, and worked as a secretary for Butler County Memorial Park for 19 years until her retirement in 1995. She was a member of Christ Community United Methodist Church in Butler. Jeanie was a member of the Buco Trailer Club, and she enjoyed taking cruises to the Caribbean with her husband, knitting and reading.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Bruce McBride, whom she married on May 25, 1956; three daughters, Debra Grigorovich of Connoquenessing, Sharon Dishop and her husband, Paul of Linthicum, Md., and Marcia Rullman of Chestertown, Md.; six grandchildren, Heather Shipley and her husband, Tom, Krissy Barbato and her husband, Josh, Michelle Dishop, Patrick Dishop, Danielle Dishop and Erin Grigorovich; five great-grandchildren, Elena, Taylor, Hudson, Caleb and Cole; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Jeanie was preceded in death by her brother, Wallace Sedoris Jr.; and two sisters, Betty Brady and Dorothy Christie.

MCBRIDE — Friends of Marilyn J. “Jeanie” McBride, who died Thursday, Dec. 5, 2024, will be received from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, at the funeral home with Pastor Dawn Lynn Check, of Christ Community United Methodist Church, officiating.

She will be laid to rest in the Chapel of Devotion at Butler County Memorial Park.
