Seneca Valley hires new middle school assistant principal

The Seneca Valley School District hired a new assistant principal for Ehrman Crest Middle School.

The appointment of Ivan Aranha was approved by the district school board Monday, Nov. 4.

According to the district, Aranha has 11 years of educator experience in the Washington, D.C., area. He previously worked in Germantown, Md., at another high school called Seneca Valley High School. Aranha also previously worked in schools in Virginia and California.

“We are thrilled to welcome Mr. Aranha to the Seneca Valley team,” Sean McCarty, assistant superintendent, said in a news release. “His expertise and passion for educational leadership will be instrumental in our ongoing mission to provide a supportive and dynamic learning environment at Ehrman Crest Middle School.”

Aranha has a master’s degree from George Washington University. According to Seneca Valley, Aranha’s background includes certifications in special education and English for Speakers of Other Languages.
