John Parison Jr.
John Parison Jr., 91, of Sarver, passed away on Monday, Aug. 12, 2024, at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born Dec. 11, 1932, in Middlesex Township, he was the son of John Parison Sr. and Annemarie Poppychek Parison.
John served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked as a truck driver and equipment operator for Russell Standard Inc. for 24 years. He was a member of Saxonburg VFW Post 7376, Outdoor Life Lodge, Mosquito Creek Sportsman’s Club, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cabot. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and going to camp.
Surviving are his son, John C. (Veronica) Parison of Natrona Heights, Pa.; son, Ronald J. (Brenda) Parison of Sarver; daughter, Barbara Bastian of Saxonburg; daughter, Sandra A. (Don) Selman of Carthage, Texas; daughter, Janet L. (Raymond) Mentel of Saxonburg; son, Edward T. (Robyn) Parison of Sarver; two brothers, Mike Parison and Nick Parison; three sisters, Sherri Davis, Mary Eyth and Nancy Biedendenbach; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Jane Byrne Parison; his parents; and seven brothers and sisters.
PARISON — Friends of John Parison Jr., who died Monday, Aug. 12, 2024, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at FOX FUNERAL HOME, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, St. Joseph Catholic Church, 315 Stoney Hollow Road, Cabot, with Father James Kurtz officiating.
Interment will follow in Our Lady of Hope Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Saxonburg VFW Post 7376 in support of local homeless veterans.
