Connie Huffman
Connie S. (Hays) Huffman, 55, of Butler, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2024.
She was born on Dec. 22, 1968, to the late George and Lottie Hays. She was a 1986 graduate of Butler High School. She then went on to study nursing at Butler County Community College.
Connie was known for her kind and selfless nature, and she often was described as a sweet soul who dedicated herself to the well-being of others. When she had her children, she became a stay-at-home mom. Anytime one of her kids called, she would drop everything and be there to help. Her passions included bingo, where she enjoyed the company of her friends, and various creative pursuits such as crafting and painting. Anyone who knew Connie knew she loved holidays and sharing them with her family. She also enjoyed TikTok, and sharing videos that brought joy and laughter.
Above all, Connie treasured time spent with her beloved grandchildren, Cambria, Hadley, Paisley and Colton, who brought immense joy to her life. In typical grandparent nature, no rules applied at her house. She would always say “It’s a grandma’s job to spoil them.” They will always cherish their memories and how close they were with their grandma.
Connie leaves behind her husband, Bill, with whom she had celebrated 32 years of marriage in July; and their children, Brandon Huffman (Miranda), Ethan Huffman, Meghan Fresh (Justin) and Jordan Huffman. Her legacy extends through her vibrant grandchildren and also is remembered by her sibling, Ken Hays; and many others.
Given they were only one year apart, Ken and Connie were best friends from birth.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents, George and Lottie Hays; her brothers, Bill Hays and Daryl Hays; two sisters, Carol Wiles and Georgia Gall; and two half brothers, Roberto Hays and Donald Hays of Belgium.
Connie's life and memory will be celebrated and cherished by all who knew her. She left a lasting impact through her acts of kindness and loving nature.
