Sandra Adamik
Sandra Lee (Falkner) Adamik, 81, of Sarver, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at 4:50 a.m. surrounded by family.
She was born May 3, 1943, in Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights, to the late Harry H. and Rose Marie (Kelly) Falkner. She had lived in the area all of her life.
Sandy was a 1961 graduate of Tarentum High School and International Correspondence Schools in small business management. She was the office manager for Richard S. Adamik (garbage, container and roll-off services) since 1972. Sandy was a member of Pleasant Unity United Presbyterian Church in Fawn Township. She served as second assistant to the treasurer in her teen years and leader for the Vacation Bible School and the Women’s Fellowship Day Circle for several years.
Her favorite day of the week was the day she went bowling, and she served as secretary for several years for the Freeport Evening Club and Queen Bee’s bowling leagues. Sandy loved celebrating and preparing her special dinner menus for her family during Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. She also enjoyed celebrating the many family graduations and birthday parties. Her favorite hobbies were crocheting, sewing, gardening, playing board games with family and building puzzles, and she also had a great love for animals.
Sandy is survived by her husband of 62 years, Richard S. Adamik; and her children, Tammy L. Adamik of Sarver, Richard P. (Sandy) Adamik of Sarver, Tracy A. (Mary Ellen) Adamik of West Deer, Kimberly M. (Alvin Jones) Adamik of Fawn Township and John M. Adamik of Sarver; and her siblings, Larry (Kathy) Falkner of New Brighton, Delores Gizienski of West Sunbury and Charles (Janet) Falkner of Kittanning.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Chauna (Jason Kamer) Callen, Craig (Ashley Svitek) Callen Jr., Chad Callen, Christy (Jason Weiss) Callen, Mark (Lynsey) Lepkowski, Cole (Lynaia) Adamik, Michelle (Zachary) Guerrieri, Kevin (Yazid Gray) Adamik, Cory Jones and Nikki (Bob) Burk, Gavin Adamik, and Kayla College; and great-grandchildren, Charles Kamer, Emma and Caleb Callen, Lucas Callen, Nalaysia and Taysia Harris, Noah Weiss, Matthew and Christopher Lepkowski, Isaac and Ava Guerrieri, Brooks and Bennett Jones and Finn Burk. She was known as “Aunt Sas” to many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by her brother, Harry M. Falkner; as well as sisters, Elizabeth and Anna Marie Falkner, Helen Hemphill, Virginia Rodgers, Audrey Jean Dunbar and Marilynn Boyd.
A special thank you to her granddaughter, Chauna Callen, for all of her loving care and support during the past few weeks of Sandy’s life.
