Grace Kolander-Shaw
Grace M. Kolander-Shaw, 82, of Penn Township, Butler, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, July 30, 2024, at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born at home in Adams Township on Oct. 28, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Yolanda Retrovata Molinaro.
Grace attended a one-room school house for four years and graduated from Mars High School in 1959. She later graduated from Robert Morris School of Business.
Grace had been an accountant for West Penn Power for 17 years.
She was a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Parish at Holy Sepulcher Church. She belonged to the Penn Township Women’s Club and the Red Hat Society.
Surviving are her husband, Ralph Shaw, whom she married June 6, 2012; two sons, Jay Kolander of Butler and Justin Kolander (Alyssa) of Boyers; two grandchildren, Taelynn and Jaxton Kolander; a sister, Christina Swartz of Kittanning; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Kolander, whom she married Oct. 12, 1963, and who died on Feb. 16, 1998; her sisters, Rose Acquavita, Mary Hanovick and Helen Molinaro; and her brothers, Raymond, Adam, Joe and Tony Molinaro.
KOLANDER-SHAW — Friends of Grace M. Kolander-Shaw, who died Tuesday, July 30, 2024, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Sepulcher Church, 1304 E. Cruikshank Road, Butler. Please meet at the church. Father Charles Bober, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Mars Cemetery, Adams Township.
