Byars

Kathie Lynn (Rummel) Byars of Cartersville, Ga., formerly of Rome, Ga. and Butler, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born April 4, 1953, Kathie was the daughter of the late Robert Day and Karen Blakely Hanna. A 1971 graduate of Butler High School, Kathie made her home in Butler until she married Ed Byars. Kathie relocated to Rome, Ga. in 1998.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ed Byars. She is survived by her adoring children, Chance (Megan) Rummel of Butler and Shira (Jared) Whatley of Cartersville, Ga.; and her beloved grandchildren, Corrissa Schmidt, Harrison Rozier, Ecklund Rummel, Rieger Rummel, Blakely Stein and Olivia Whatley.

Kathie will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the flower gardens she cherished, the birds she nurtured, and the hearts of those who loved her.
