Butler residents should be proud of their community
As a Butler native now residing in North Carolina, my wife and I returned to Butler to visit family last week. We happened to be visiting family on the night of the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump.
I live in an area surrounded by neighbors who come from many different states, especially from the Northeast. I love to boast that Butler is the home of the Jeep and folks who embrace small-town values. I, for one, refuse to see what happened on July 13th as a blight on our community.
Thankfully, the shooter was not from Butler, and my prayers are with the family of Corey Comperatore.
On my drive back to North Carolina, a phrase struck me: “From Butler to the White House.” This will be my mantra from now until Election Day, when normalcy returns to our country.
God bless y’all from this proud former Butler resident.

Leland, N.C., formerly of Butler
