At Prospect Borough’s Memorial Day Parade on May 25, Prospectors eagerly came out to honor those who have served in the U.S. military and are no longer with us, some killed in combat. What those men and women did to protect our democracy is huge. I doubt anyone is more appreciative of them than Prospectors.

But, as it was in 2016 and 2020, this November it is likely that 75% of them will go to the polls and vote for the man who called our fallen soldiers “suckers” and “losers,” the man who crafted an insurrection against what so many Americans gave their lives to defend and protect. (Shame on Mike Kelly for supporting former President Donald Trump.)

People are allowed to support who they want — That’s American. But why not write in a friend or relative who honors fallen service people and their beloved country rather than vote for a man who so openly disparages them? Imagine your own son or daughter talking and acting like Trump. You'd be horrified.
