Markich 50th anniversary
Richard and Debora Markich, of Jackson Township, celebrated 50 years of marriage with a family dinner.
Markich married the former Debora Sienkiewicz on June 12, 1974, in Harmony.
They have four children, Jennifer Brumley, Rick Markich and Alex Markich, all of Mason, Ohio, and Lauren Shorr of Zelienople.
The Markichs also have 11 grandchildren.
Markich is a retired sales executive.
Mrs. Markich is an artistic consultant at Curio Art Gallery, Zelienople.
We started at the very young ages of 16 and 17 years old on June 12, 1974. We met as Debbie was leaving the Strand Theatre in Zelienople. I was hanging out on Main Street at Chubby Chuck’s pool hall and she was walking on the other side of the street. I bet my buddies I could walk her home and get a date. The rest is history. The odds were stacked against us in so many ways. We attribute the blessings in our marriage to the covenant we have with God and Jesus Christ. They provided the guidance and blessings that made this lifelong adventure possible. The biggest blessing of all, of course, is our family.
