GoFundMe started after Westmoreland County man killed in Thursday crash

A GoFundMe was started to cover the funeral expenses for a man who died in a crash in Fairview Township on Thursday, June 13.

Josiah J. Pastories, 19, of North Huntingdon, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on Kittanning Pike near Ridgeview Drive after the Mitsubishi Outlander he was driving struck a tree, police said.

The fundraiser’s goal is to reach $10,000. As of Friday afternoon, $7,935 had been raised.

In the GoFundMe description, Pastories’ sister, Justice, wrote that he was on his way to work when the crash occurred.

“My family thanks you in advance for any and all help it will all be greatly appreciated,” she wrote.

Pastories’ vehicle was traveling north on Kittanning Pike at around 6:30 a.m. when he failed to negotiate a right curve, police said. The vehicle drove into the opposite lane of travel, down a slope and struck a tree, according to police. He was found dead at the scene.

Police said Pastories was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
