Eileene Ripper
Eileene Mae Ripper left this world to join the heavenly choir on Friday, June 7, 2024.
Born on the 20th of November, 1936, in New Kensington, Pa., Eileene was a beacon of love and faith throughout her 87 years on this earth. She was called home from Gibsonia, at St. Barnabus Nursing Home, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and devotion that will be remembered forever by those who knew her.
Eileene was the beloved wife of the late Ronald Ripper, with whom she shared 51 years of marriage, a testament to their unbreakable bond and mutual adoration. She was the cherished daughter of Linnie and Howard Brannon, and sister to Ralph, Eugene and Robert Brannon, all of whom preceded her in passing.
Eileene's memory will be lovingly carried on by her devoted children, Michael Ripper and Sherri Walker; her caring son-in-law, Russell Walker; and her daughter-in-law; Linda Ripper. Her grandchildren, Rocco and Courtney Ionadi, Jennifer Walker, Russell Walker and Karly Ripper, will hold dear the lessons and love she imparted upon them.
After graduating from Har-Brack High School in 1954, Eileene continued her education with classes at the American Institute of Banking. She dedicated five years to Pittsburgh National Bank and served as a secretary for Freeport Area School District. Eileene found her calling at the Harrison Township Water Authority, where she worked diligently for 18 years, including a decade as the esteemed general manager. She was honored to receive a woman of the year award for her incredible effort. Her work ethic and commitment to service were an inspiration to all.
Eileene's life was a testament to her loving and kind spirit. She was a woman of unwavering faith, and this faith guided her every action. For anyone she knew who was in need, she prepared handmade meals and baked goods as an expression of her love. For 65 years, she shared the Word of God as a Sunday school teacher, and for 25 years, she brought comfort and spiritual guidance through her Bible studies in nursing homes. As president of the Girls Guild at First Baptist Association, Eileene led with grace and encouraged countless young women to grow in their faith.
Her melodious voice was a staple in the choir at First Baptist Church in Tarentum, where she sang with joy and devotion. From her youth, she participated in both the high school girls and mixed choirs. Her voice not only lifted praises to the Lord, but also warmed the hearts of all who listened. Eileene also loved gardening and making crafts.
Eileene's life was a reflection of her faith-filled heart. She embraced each day with a loving kindness that knew no bounds. Her unwavering commitment to her family, her church and her community was a shining example of a life well-lived. She was a woman who not only preached the gospel, but lived it every day through her actions and her unwavering love for others.
Today, as we bid farewell to Eileene Mae Ripper, let us not dwell on our loss but celebrate the gift of her life.
Rest in peace, dear Eileene. Your legacy will live on in the hearts and lives of all who were blessed to know you. Amen.
