Woman accused of removing money from purse in Butler
A Butler woman was accused of removing more than $500 from someone’s purse last week, according to city police.
Erin Torres, 35, was charged with misdemeanor theft after police said she took the money from a health aide’s purse June 3.
Documents showed witnesses saw Torres remove $520 from the aide’s purse while the aide was cleaning the second floor of a West Wayne Street residence.
The health aide said she contacted Torres and asked her to return the money, but police said she did not respond.
Torres’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 15 before District Judge William Fullteron.
