Isabella Gillette, a junior in Mars Area High School, was selected for a 2023-24 Region 4 subregion Air Force JROTC Cadet of the Year Leadership Award.

Gillette is a member of Pine-Richland/Mars Area U.S. Air Force JROTC and was nominated for the award by her instructors. There are over 125,000 cadets worldwide, according to JROTC instructor Chief Mike Gasparetto.

Criteria for the award include a cadet’s GPA, physical training core, community service and unit involvement.
