Mars to vote on final budget June 18

Mars Area School District will vote to adopt its 2024-2025 budget at a meeting June 18, according to business manager Debbie Brandstetter.

The final budget includes expenditures of $62,725,076 with a 3.474 mill increase, which equates to an annual tax increase of $100 for a home valued at $28,665 in the district.

The tax increase would bring the millage rate from 105.526 to 109.00.

The final budget does not differ from the preliminary budget that was approved in May, Brandstetter stated.

Previously she said top expenses include salaries, benefits and contractual increases, as well as health care premium increases with the district’s consortium, the Midwestern Insurance Combine. Health care premiums will increase by 20.68% for the 2024-25 fiscal year.
