Park Road construction is next step in Balls Bend safety project
Park Road will be closed for 32 days from State Road to Route 228, while crews widen the entrance of Park Road to Route 228.
The whole $26.5 million safety improvement project is anticipated to be completed in January 2025 by Independence Excavating of Independence, Ohio. The project is a major road realignment project involving the addition of a travel lane in each direction and a center turn lane, according to the state Department of Transportation. It also includes the construction of four new structures, realigned local road connections and a new signalized intersection at Route 228 and Park Road.
Motorists traveling around the closure will take a 4.4 mile detour to access Route 228 from Park Road. Motorists will take State Road to Denny Road to Three Degree Road.
