Beacon Hotel holds 13th annual Wingfest

FORWARD TWP — Despite the gray sky, visitors turned out in droves to sample some chicken at the 13th annual Wingfest event, held on Sunday, June 2 at the Beacon Hotel.
Nine local cooks entered the competition, with awards given for the best chicken in three categories: hottest, most creative, and best overall. The winner for each category was determined by public vote, with the winners receiving a commemorative gold chicken trophy.
Bonniebrooke Ristorante in Butler took first place for hottest, while Big Shot Bob’s took top honors for both best overall and most original.
