State police in Troop D investigated 53 crashes over Memorial Day weekend, and three of those were as a result of impaired driving, according to data released Wednesday, May 29.

The data was collected from arrests and crashes investigated from May 24 to 27.

There were no fatal crashes in Troop D’s coverage areas, police said, but a total of six people were killed in crashes statewide.

Of the 467 DUIs investigated in the state, Troop D contributed 37 to that number. Of the total 181 people injured in crashes, only 12 were from Troop D.

A total of 756 crashes occurred across the state that were investigated by troopers during the long weekend.
