Harmony park board hosting summer concerts, color run/walk
The Harmony Borough Parks Board will host its annual summer concert series and sponsor a color run/walk.
The parks board will host its first summer concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 13, in the borough square featuring This, That and the Other Thing, a classic rock cover band that takes requests.
The Allegheny Brass Band will bring its music to the square on June 27 starting at 8 p.m. Fireworks will follow at dusk.
The final two concerts will be on July 11 with the John Burgh Band and July 25 with West Park Road band. Both concerts will begin at 7 p.m.
People interested in attending the concerts are encouraged to bring their own chairs.
On Saturday, Aug. 17, the parks board will sponsor a Family Color Blast Fun Run/Walk starting at 10 a.m. at Sippel Reservoir Park, behind the Northgate Plaza.
This family-friendly event features a one-and-half-mile run/walk course that includes a section of the Harmony Trail.
As participants journey through the course, they will be showered in a vibrant array of colored powder at different stations as they leave and then return to Sippel Park.
The run/walk includes a colored powder toss dance party with a DJ and a colored powder throw for all participants at the park to conclude the festivities.
Registrations are being accepted at https://runsignup.com/Race/PA/Harmony/2024HarmonyColorBlastRunWalk.
Paper registration forms are available at the Harmony borough office.
All proceeds from the run/walk benefit Harmony’s parks, trail, canoe launch and events.
Anyone or any business interested in sponsoring the concert series and/or the run/walk can contact the borough office at https://harmony-pa.us.
