Toomey

Mary Ellen “Sis” Toomey, 82, of Butler, passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2024.

She was born on June 16, 1941, in Butler. Sis was the loving daughter of the late Merle J. and Rose E. Sarver.

She had a career spanning over 40 years at Kmart’s shoe department. Her passion for animals was unparalleled, and her home was always filled with “fur babies” whom she adored. She was never too busy to visit a new family fur baby and was always the one in trouble for sneaking food to the dogs at family get-togethers. Sis also found joy in nurturing her beautiful gardens.

She leaves behind a legacy of love to her children, Kim (Randy) Saeler, Tracy (David) Olson and Daniel (Rebbecca) Toomey; and her sister, Vicky Gould. Her grandchildren, Justin Olson, Katelyn Puglisi, Lindsey Olson, Daniel “Zach” and Shane Toomey will deeply miss their grandmother. Sis is also survived by six great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her first granddaughter, Jessica Saeler; and her brother, David Sarver.

TOOMEY — All services for Mary Ellen “Sis” Toomey, who died Saturday, May 25, 2024, will be held privately through the SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any organization that supports the welfare of animals, a cause close to her heart.
