Seneca Valley comes 7th in USAD

The Seneca Valley Academic Decathlon came in seventh place at the United States Academic Decathlon National Competition, with team members earning four individual national medals.

Previously, the team won first place at the state competition in Harrisburg, advancing in the national competition to represent Pennsylvania.

Junior Ophelia Crano won the bronze award in the art category, senior Ashley Kemp earned bronze in the essay category and junior Gavin Cress was awarded a bronze medal in the speech category as well as a silver medal in the interview category. Junior Rohin Jayaraman earned several awards for being the highest-scoring member of the team, along with as well as junior Kaia Satory who earned the Most Valuable Team Member Award.

The Seneca Valley Academic Decathlon team members include Ophelia Crano, Shivani Umesh, Roshini Umesh, Rohin Jayaraman, Kaia Satory, Heath Lyon, Zachary DeVault, Ashley Kemp, and Gavin Cress.
