Baggetta

Anthony “Tony” Baggetta, 77, of Butler, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, while under the care of Newhaven Court at Clearview.

Born Sept. 27, 1946, in Reggio Calabria, Italy, he was the son of the late Angelo and Rosa (DeLeo) Baggetta.

Tony was a 1965 graduate of Arnold High School and went on to obtain his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Youngstown State University. He enjoyed collecting cars and golfing and was also an avid woodworker. Tony loved to be at home with his family, especially cooking out and swimming in the pool. Above all else, he was a family man. Tony was a wonderful husband and a truly awesome Dad.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Ann (Fammartino) Baggetta, whom he married on Sept. 18, 1971; three sons, Dominic Baggetta and his wife, Katina, of Butler, Daniel Baggetta and his wife, Michelle, of North Canton, Ohio, and Antony “Tony” Baggetta and his wife, Janice, of Kent, Ohio; his 11 grandchildren, Jessica, Daniel, Ashley, Dominic, Anthony, Megan, Antony, Rocco, Nicco, Marco and Giovanni; one great-grandchild on the way; two sisters, Mary (Jim) Ieraci of Toronto, Canada, and Teresa Baggetta of New Kensington; and several nieces and nephews.

BAGGETTA — Friends of Anthony “Tony” Baggetta, who died Wednesday, May 15, 2024, will be received from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler. A blessing service will immediately follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
