Michael O’Keefe

O'Keefe

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Husband, Father, Poppy and Brother, Michael (Big Mike) O’Keefe. Mike passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024, leaving behind memories that will be cherished by his family, friends and all who loved him.

Born on Jan. 28, 1948, on the Northside of Pittsburgh, he was the beloved son of John O’Keefe and Helen Milligan; brother to Stephen and John Zorich and Patty Sweet; and brother-in-law to Greg Sweet, (the late) Steve Starcich (Roz) and Tom Starcich (Jan).

Mike was married to his beautiful wife Sibyl for more than 54 years. He is survived by his wife, Sibyl O’Keefe; son, Michael O’Keefe; daughter, Kelly Felsing; son-in-law, Jaime Felsing; and four grandchildren, Kate Leake (Jonathan), Hanna Felsing, Molly O’Keefe and Jaime John Felsing.

Mike was a graduate of Allegheny High School. After graduation he served in the U.S. Army where he served a tour in the Vietnam War. Mike was a proud member the American Legion, Elks and the VFW, where he served on the honor guard for many years.

Mike was a selfless person who would help anyone who needed it. He always met you with a smile and a cold beer. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family, friends and fur babies down at the crick in Plantation Park. Big Mike enjoyed golfing and cooking for his family. He enjoyed sharing a few cold ones with his friends at the Mustang.

He will be sorely missed at the crick by all his four-legged best friends, Lulu, Penny and Scout.

O’KEEFE — Friends of Michael (Big Mike) O’Keefe, who died Friday, May 3, 2024, will be received from noon until the time of service at 4 p.m. Tuesday at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople with Pastor Reid Moon officiating.
