A Michigan man has been accused by state police of having an online relationship with a minor from Karns City and sharing sexually explicit photos of himself over the course of a few months, documents showed.

Parker J. Harris, 19, of Eaton Rapids, Mich., was charged with felonies corruption of minors and sexual communication with a minor after a 12-year-old girl disclosed the nature of their conversations last year. Police said Harris was 18 at the time their interactions began.

According to documents, troopers responded to a Karns City home in June 2023 for reports of the girl receiving inappropriate photos from an adult man via Snapchat.

Police said the girl disclosed she had been in a romantic online relationship with the man, later identified as Harris, for a few months, after Harris viewed her profile on the app.

Documents showed the girl disclosed Harris “made her” share inappropriate photos and would often have video conversations with her when he was naked.

Police said a search of the girl’s electronic devices in July showed inappropriate messages from Harris spanning back two months.

The girl was interviewed at the Butler County Children’s Advocacy Center in August 2023, and disclosed Harris “talked and acted” sweet to her even after knowing her true age and described it as “really sneaky.”

The girl said “she was hoping that after she told (Harris) how old she was that he would be scared off, but it didn’t stop him,” documents showed.

Police said the girl disclosed Harris would send inappropriate videos to the girl, speak of visiting her and wanted to know her location at all times.

Documents showed the girl said Harris acknowledged he could “get into big trouble” because of the girl’s age.

Harris’ preliminary hearing has not yet been scheduled.
