Public invited to volunteer at Robin’s Home in Butler on Sunday

Those interested in supporting Robin’s Home, the house for at-risk female veterans, can get their hands dirty on Sunday.

The public is invited to help with a cleanup and food drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, April 21, as part of the Blossom Harvest Initiative for Robin’s Home, which cares for homeless, unstably housed and low-income female veterans and their children.

Volunteers will gather at the Robin’s Home Outreach Center, 357 S. Main St., Butler, during that time. They will join volunteers from Rock Dining, the Aramark dining services program at Slippery Rock University, in refreshing the landscaping and adding raised garden beds for Robin’s Home residents to maintain and harvest.

Those planning to volunteer also are asked to bring a nonperishable food item for Robin’s Home.

Aramark employees have served as volunteers for more than a decade on the annual ABC Day in April, which is Aramark Building Community Day.

Rock Dining will join thousands of volunteers in 13 countries who are participating in projects that positively impact their local communities on ABC Day.
