Karns City man accused of rape in Concord Township

A man has been accused of raping an 18-year-old woman at a home in Concord Township last year, according to charges filed by state police Monday, April 15.

Logan L. Bowser, 21, of Karns City, was charged with felony rape and misdemeanors indecent assault and false imprisonment after DNA evidence and testimony connected him to an incident that allegedly occurred July 23, 2023.

Police said they were contacted by a staff member at Butler Memorial Hospital around 8:30 p.m. that day and informed an 18-year-old had come in for a sexual assault evaluation.

Documents show that during an interview with police, the alleged victim disclosed she had been assaulted by Bowser at a Concord Township home around 5 p.m. that day.

Police said the woman went to the home to talk to Bowser, and while there, he asked her several times to have sex with him. Police said despite the woman refusing Bowser’s requests, he grabbed her and forced her to lie down on a bed. According to documents, Bowser removed the woman’s clothes, held her down and raped her.

She disclosed she “did not know what to do because she was so scared,” according to documents. She eventually returned to her home and then went to the hospital for the sexual assault evaluation, police said.

According to documents, the material collected during the evaluation matched Bowser’s DNA.

Bowser’s preliminary hearing is scheduled June 4 before District Judge Lewis Stoughton.
