Local author advances in international competition
“From the Drop of Heaven,” a novel by local author Janet Gall Piper, whose pseudonym as an author is Juliette Godot, recently advanced into the final round of the Chaucer Book Awards, an international book competition that is a division of the Chanticleer International Book Awards.
The awards recognize emerging new talent and outstanding works in pre-1750s historical fiction.
Godot, a 1980 graduate of Butler High School, also graduated from Butler County Community College as well as Geneva College in Beaver County. She is a former member of the Butler Writers Guild.
“From the Drop of Heaven” is a Renaissance-era historical novel about Godot’s ancestors from Alsace-Lorraine, France.
