Bernice J. Lewis, 95, of Jackson Township, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2024, while under the care of The Grove at Harmony.

Born Sept. 19, 1928, in Harmony, she was the daughter of the late H. Byron and Esther J. (Fiedler) Stamm.

Bernice was a member of Grace Church of Harmony. She was also a life member of the Harmony Museum, where she served as the treasurer, and a life member of the Portersville Steam Show. She worked as a bookkeeper for various firms and later retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a rural carrier.

She was an accomplished seamstress and refinished furniture. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening and crafting. Bernice also had the opportunity to extensively travel for 20 years. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

She is survived by her son, Robert S. Lewis; her granddaughter, Erin Medley and her husband, Gabriel; and her three great-grandchildren, Marcel, Rowan and Arden.

In addition to her parents, Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, David M. Lewis, who passed away on June 20, 2016.

LEWIS — Friends and family of Bernice J. Lewis, who died Thursday, April 11, 2024, will be received from 1 p.m. until the celebration of life service at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 14, 2024, at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.

Bernice will be laid to rest privately at the Grace Church Cemetery in Harmony.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Bernice’s honor to the Harmony Museum at harmonymuseum.org/donate, or the Portersville Steam Show, 1512 Perry Highway, Portersville, PA 16051.
