Two Knoch High students achieve Eagle Scout status

A pair of Knoch High School seniors can add “Eagle Scout” to their list of achievements.

Adam Schiner and Nevaeh Spencer recently reached the status in their respective Scouts BSA troops.

Adam, who has belonged to Troop 58 since 2017, lead a team of Scouts, family and friends in building a concrete pad, as well as two benches at Spring Valley Park in Clinton Township.

The benches, which are along the trail, will give hikers a place to rest, and the concrete pad will allow park visitors to more easily navigate the pavilion.

Adam Schriner, a Knoch High School senior, spearheaded an Eagle Scout project to improve Spring Valley Park in Clinton Township.

Adam, who is the son of Chris and Andrea Schriner, has earned a total of 35 merit badges as a Scout, and is a member of the Order of the Arrow. In his Scouting career, Adam has served as assistant senior patrol leader, patrol leader and quartermaster.

Neveah Spencer, also a Knoch High School senior, built a pantry box and a Little Free Library in Butler for her Eagle Scout project. Both are for community use.

At Knoch, Adam is a member of the National Honor Society, German Club and Ski Club. He enjoys camping, skiing, lifting weights and listening to music.

Neveah is a member of troop 6670 in Ford City, Armstrong County. She has earned almost 30 merit badges as a Scout.

For her Eagle Scout project, Neveah built a pantry and Little Free Library for community use outside her church, New Beginnings Free Methodist in Butler.

She dedicated her project to the memory of her Scouting mentor, the late Ray Hoffman, who encouraged her to reach Eagle Scout.

Neveah, also a member of the Order of the Arrow, plans to continue to mentor younger Scouts in Troop 683 in Cabot, which is an all-girl Scouts BSA troop.

Neveah’s sister, Izabella Spencer; brother, Kixton Sherman; and stepbrother, Chad Caldwell Jr., also are members of Scouts BSA.

Neveah, who is the oldest, was the first among them to earn Eagle Scout.

She is the daughter of Brandi Caldwell and stepdaughter of Chad Caldwell Sr.
