John Oesterling
John Lee Oesterling, 77, of Butler, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024.
He was born in Butler on March 29, 1947, to the late Loyal and Eleanor (Covert) Oesterling. John graduated from Butler High School in 1965 and then opened Oesterling Automotive and Autobody, where he worked for over 40 years until he retired.
He was known for being hardworking, being helpful and having a great sense of humor, and made exceptional seal noises. He loved NASCAR and hot rods. John was described as a good husband, father and grandfather, and loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Crossfire United Methodist Church.
John was the beloved husband of Rebecca (Fleming) Oesterling, since their marriage on Oct. 22, 1966; father of Kris-Ann (Daniel) Wilcox, Marsha (John) Blum, Paula (John) DeRunk, Ryan Oesterling, Sara Oesterling and Jane Oesterling; uncle to one niece; Opa of 22 grandchildren; and two great-children and one on the way.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Lintz.
OESTERLING — All services for John Lee Oesterling, who died Sunday, March 31, 2024, were held privately through SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.
