Walter Hartman, 70, of Edinburg, Pa., formerly of Cabot, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Rimersburg, Pa., on May 24, 1953, to the late Raymond and Josephine Ann (Crissman) Hartman.

Walter was a lifetime member of the local fire department. He loved gardening, watching eagles, hunting, auto racing and camping with his family.

He was the beloved husband of Judith (Goldinger) Hartman for more than 51 years, since their marriage in 1973; father of John (Lisa) Hartman and Randy Hartman; brother of Thomas “Tim” (Patty) Hartman, Wendall Hartman, Nancy (Ken) Martz, Linda and Valerie; grandfather of Zachary Hartman, Kayla (Kyle) Montgomery, Faith Hartman and Trevor Hartman; and great-grandfather of Ivy Emigh, Tallen Hartman, Maverick Hartman, Kayden Hartman and Kayson Montgomery.

Along with his parents, Walter was preceded in death by his brothers, Joe and Roger Hartman; and his sisters, Grace, Saundra and Ruth.

The family would like to thank Three Oaks Hospice for their loving care.

HARTMAN — Family and friends of Walter Hartman, who died Wednesday, March 27, 2024, will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler. Prayers will immediately follow in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Club Hope Foundation Inc., 237 6th St., Ellwood City, PA 16117.
