Rebecca Dunkerley
Rebecca D. “Becky” Dunkerley, 76, of North Liberty, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, on Saturday, March 23, 2024, while under hospice care in Grove Manor, following a brief illness.
Becky was born in Grove City on July 17, 1947, and was the daughter to James R. “Nate” and Ruth Mary (Patterson) Carothers. She married Chester P. “Sonny” Dunkerley Jr. on May 3, 1969; he preceded her in death on April 11, 2011.
Becky was a member of North Liberty Presbyterian Church where she was active as a deacon, Trustee, Sunday school and Bible school teacher, and a member of Presbyterian Women.
She was a graduate of Grove City High School and a member of the American Legion Post 393 Auxiliary, Slippery Rock.
Becky worked at the former Steese’s Ice Cream and as a janitor at North Liberty Church.
She enjoyed reading, jigsaw puzzles and sitting on her porch swing watching and feeding the birds.
Becky is survived by a sister, Lois Barber; a brother, Robert Carothers, and his wife, Karen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, David W. “Dave” Dunkerley, who died April 19, 2023; and a brother, James W. “Bill” Carothers.
DUNKERLEY — Visitation hours for Rebecca D. “Becky” Dunkerley, who died Saturday, March 23, 2024, will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at North Liberty Presbyterian Church, 209 North Liberty Plain Grove Road, Grove City.
Funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. at the church.
Burial will take place at North Liberty Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Deacon’s Fund at North Liberty Presbyterian Church.
