Mary Claire (Straessley) Hack, 86, of Cranberry Township, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born Sept. 12, 1937, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Agnes (Rodgers) Straessley.

Mary was a longtime member of St. Aiden Parish, St. Alphonsus Church in Wexford, where she married her husband, Andy, on May 19, 1956. She later joined Divine Grace Parish, St. Ferdinand Church in Cranberry Township, where she was a Eucharistic minister and assisted with the church festivals. She was also former vice president of the Cranberry Township Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

Mary was a former member of the Freeway Lanes Ladies Bowling League and enjoyed playing cards with her lady friends. Above all, she cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 67 years, Andrew J. Hack; her children, Agnes (Dan) Taylor, Ruth (Jim) Hughes, Mary “Minnie” (Mike) Bach, John (Vicky) Hack and Martha Macmillan; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her granddaughter, MaryAnn Elizabeth Hughes, who passed away in 1979; her brothers, Henry, Clarence, Roger, William and Francis Straessley; and her sisters, Louise Straessley, Cecelia Gaiser and Lillian Fischer.

HACK — Friends of Mary Claire (Straessley) Hack, who died Wednesday, March 20, 2024, will be received from 1:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 24, 2024, and 10 to 11:30 a.m. Monday at BOYLAN-GLENN-KILDOO FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon Monday at Divine Grace Parish, St. Ferdinand Church, 2535 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township, PA 16066.

She will be laid to rest at St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Wexford.

Memorial donations may be made in her honor to the Divine Grace Parish, St. Ferdinand Church at the address above or to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
