Grove City College Symphonic Band opens season with March 22 concert
The Grove City College Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble opens its season with a concert on Friday, March 22, at the Ketler Auditorium of the Pew Fine Arts Center. The concert is free and begins at 7:30 p.m.
The Grove City musicians will play selections such as Claude T. Smith’s “Eternal Father Strong to Save,” Frank Ticheli's “Earth Song,” and Johan de Meij’s “Symphony #1 — Lord of the Rings.”
Opening for the GCC Symphonic Band will be the West Middlesex High School Concert Band, who will begin the concert with a trumpet playing of the national anthem and join the symphonic band in a performance of Claude T. Smith’s “God of Our Fathers.”
