Top Tier Federal Credit Union recently expanded into Butler County, opening its fourth branch in January at 170 New Castle Road in Butler Township.

Since 1940, Top Tier has grown from nine members to over 15,000 according to marketing manager Roz Greggs, and now has one branch each in Butler and Clarion counties, as well as Brookville and Cranberry in Venango County.

“We are ecstatic to be open,” Greggs said. “We have met so many people already who have been incredibly friendly. In addition to being a resource for our members, we look forward to being a partner in this wonderful community.”

Top Tier covers a portion of Western Pennsylvania, and according to Greggs, anyone who lives, works, worships, attends school or conducts business within one of the credit union’s chartered counties is eligible for membership.

The Butler branch is managed by Amber Jamison, who has over 15 years of experience in the financial industry, Greggs said.

In addition to auto, personal, home equity and recreational loans, Top Tier offers mortgages and construction loans.

“Our mortgage team has over 30 years of combined experience,” Greggs said. “When you finance your mortgage with us, our mortgage loan originators will help you navigate the entire process. You will not be working with an outside company.”

Top Tier also offer business accounts, youth accounts, Christmas clubs and a financial health checkup where members can sit down with one of its credit specialists to go over their credit report.

It also offers online and mobile banking with text alerts, mobile deposit, bill pay and electronic statements through the Top Tier app.

Greggs said one thing that stands out about Top Tier is its Special Bonus Dividend program, which has paid $2.55 million to its members during the past eight years.

“It’s an additional way that we incentivize members to do business with us,” Greggs said. “Members have their Special Bonus Dividend earnings deposited into their savings account at the beginning of the year. The Special Bonus Dividend given to members either increases the member’s return on their savings or reduces their cost of borrowing.”

Membership applications can be started at toptierfcu.org or at any of the branches.

“We do require those applying for membership to stop by the branch to finalize their membership,” Greggs said. “This gives us the opportunity to meet our members, go over all of our services and print them their instant-issue debit cards.”
