Elementary students meet Harris the therapy dog

Harris the therapy dog visited students at Moraine Elementary School Friday morning, March 15.
The Slippery Rock Area School District school board approved the start of a monthly visit from a therapy dog to the school at a meeting Feb. 26.
Alfonso Angelucci, the district’s superintendent, said Harris the golden retriever will visit the school monthly with his handler, Becky Thomas. Harris and Thomas will work primarily with students in the school’s life skills support classroom.
Danielle Remley, school counselor at Moraine Elementary School, was integral in organizing the program, according to Angelucci.
