Detectives find cocaine, marijuana in Jackson Township home, 3 charged

Three people were charged Wednesday, March 13, after Butler County detectives discovered suspected cocaine, marijuana and drug sale materials in a Jackson Township home last year.

Richard W. Rinehart, 38, Robert C. Rinehart III, 40, and Heather L. Krapp, 43, all of Harmony, were accused of possessing paraphernalia following a search of their home Dec. 1.

Detectives said a search of Richard Rinehart’s room yielded 8.5 grams of suspected cocaine, 1,391 grams of suspected marijuana, digital scales, empty stamp bags, syringes, straws, a glass bong, two pistols and a semi-automatic rifle, assorted ammunition, and precious metals and coins amounting to $59,718.

Documents showed two bags of marijuana and eight oxycodone pills were later discovered mixed in with the coins.

A search of his phone also indicated he was selling cocaine and marijuana since 2017. Images of narcotics and large sums of cash were also found in the phone, according to documents.

In Krapp and Robert Rinehart’s bedroom, police said they discovered 3.7 grams of suspected crack cocaine and empty stamp bags, syringes, burned glass pipes and rubber bands.

In another bedroom, detectives said more empty stamp bags, syringes, burned glass pipes and rubber bands were found.

Richard was charged with felonies drug sales and criminal use of a communication facility and misdemeanor use and possession of drug paraphernalia. Robert and Krapp were charged with misdemeanors conspiracy and use and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Krapp and Robert Rinehart’s preliminary hearings are scheduled April 17 before District Judge Amy Marcinkiewicz. Richard Rinehart’s preliminary hearing had not yet been scheduled as of Friday afternoon.
