Seneca Valley approves 2024-27 comprehensive plan

Seneca Valley DME

JACKSON TWP — The number of students who learn English as a second language in the Seneca Valley School District has “increased more than other subgroups within the district,” according to the 2024-27 Future Ready Comprehensive Plan approved at a school board meeting Monday, March 11.

The comprehensive plan, which is available on the district’s website, highlights educational and instructional goals in the coming years.

The plan indicates the district operates its own ESL program and staff will likely be added “due to increased enrollment.”

The document also states both Haine Elementary School and Haine Middle School “exceeded the statewide average for English Language Growth and Attainment.”

Additionally, the plan cites the importance of emotional learning support, as well as technological integration and experiential learning for students.

According to the district, the plan was developed in collaboration with parents, students, board directors, teachers, administrators, business and community members.

The plan can be read at https://www.svsd.net/ComprehensivePlan.
