Wos’ appearance was one of the activities for the annual Read Across America celebration at the school. Read Across America was started by the National Education Association in 1998 to motivate people to read.

The ToonSeum was a museum in Pittsburgh dedicated to cartoon and comic book art that was open until Feb. 24, 2018. Wos was a founder of the ToonSeum, and spent years touring the nation illustrating stories and symphony performances as they happened, while also exhibiting his art in museums worldwide.
