Andrew Krenitsky

Krenitsky

Andrew Krenitsky, of Saxonburg, formerly of Monroeville, died peacefully at Magnolia Place of Saxonburg, on Monday, March 4, 2024, at the age of 97.

He was the beloved husband of his late wife, Jane, for 67 years; father of Robert, David and Janey; grandfather of Robbie, Lisa, Andrew, Janelle and Adam; and great-grandfather of Luca.

After growing up in Duquesne, Andrew served as a member of the U.S. 8th Army from 1945 to 1946, serving as a messenger on a ship in the Pacific theater at the end of World War II. He visited Japan during the U.S. occupation under Douglas MacArthur, and got to climb Mount Fuji.

After his military service, Andrew attended the University of Pittsburgh, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering in 1950. He had an extensive career at Koppers Inc., where his work on polystyrene provided him the opportunity to travel to foreign lands such as Argentina, Brazil, Mexico and Sweden.

Andrew's biggest passion was golf. He was a member of both Willowbrook Country Club and Seven Oaks Country Club, where he loved to play the game with his wife and children, and later on, his grandkids. He was also an avid bowler and loved to dance.

Andrew was an intelligent, kind, generous man who cared deeply about his family, friends and neighbors.
