Police reports
The following items were collected from various police departments and district courts.
Oct. 23 — William C. Hamilton Sr., 44, of Slippery Rock was charged with felony counts of false insurance claim and theft by deception for allegedly adding a 2014 Dodge Durango to his insurance policy several hours after striking a tree with the vehicle in Zelienople.
March 1 — Joseph J. Bell, 31, of Pittsburgh was charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest and seven summary traffic violations following a traffic stop in Butler after police said he failed to stop at several stop signs, fled on foot and resisted arrest after he was apprehended.
Feb. 25 — Scott P. McClymonds, 54, of New Castle was charged with DUI and three summary traffic violations following a traffic stop on Route 422 in Franklin Township after police said he crossed the centerline and fog line while driving unusually slow.
Feb. 3 — Stephen J. Scolaro, 52, of Grove City was charged with DUI and three summary traffic violations following a one-vehicle crash on Interstate 79 in Worth Township in which he was injured.
Feb. 27 — Brandon M. Wheeler, 28, unknown address, was charged with a felony count of retail theft and misdemeanor charges of possession of an instrument of crime and receiving stolen property for allegedly taking at least $28 in merchandise from Dick’s Sporting Goods.
Feb. 15 — Ryan T. Lienert, 20, of Philadelphia was charged with misdemeanor counts of false swearing, tampering with evidence and false reports for allegedly reporting a laptop computer stolen after he broke it and discarded it.
Feb. 13 — Landon M. Shaffer, 19, of McMurray, Washington County, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and two summary offenses after officers found beer, marijuana and a glass bong after officers received a report of drugs and alcohol in his apartment and conducted a search.
