John Hesidence Jr.
John F. Hesidence Jr., 55, of Crisswell Road, Karns City, Perry Township, Armstrong County, passed away Friday evening, Feb. 23, 2024, at Butler Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
John was born in Butler on Oct. 29, 1968. He was the son of the late John F. Hesidence Sr. and Connie Farone Hesidence Campbell.
He was a 1986 graduate of Butler Area High School. John was a 25-year member of Plumbers Union Local 27 and had been employed for 30 years at Enders Plumbing and Heating in Kittanning. He enjoyed hunting, shooting, farming, playing cards (especially euchre) and cooking. John especially enjoyed spending time with his family at his camp in East Brady.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Dyan Dougherty Hesidence, whom he married at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Bradys Bend on Aug. 26, 1995. Also surviving are two daughters, Leah M. Hesidence Geibel and her husband, A.J., of Erie and Margaret D. Hesidence of Karns City; a sister, Robin Binkley and her husband, Dave, of Plum; his father-in-law, Robert Dougherty and his wife, Janet, of Rimersburg; his mother-in-law, Judy Smock of New Bethlehem; his sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Dee Dee and Bruce Smail of New Bethlehem and Steve Dougherty of Rimersburg; his faithful friend and granddog, Daisy; as well as a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Paul and Margaret Green Hesidence; and his maternal grandparents, Frank “Froggy” and Ada Edwards Farone.
HESIDENCE — Friends of John F. Hesidence Jr., who died Friday, Feb. 23, 2024, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at HILE FUNERAL HOME of Karns City, 128 Main St., Karns City.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church, 210 St. Wendelin Road, Butler, with the Rev. Matt McClain, pastor of St. Clare of Assisi Parish, officiating.
Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Bradys Bend, Armstrong County.
