Man flown to AGH after Wednesday shooting in Butler

Police are asking the public for information after a 31-year-old man was injured in a shooting that closed a portion of East Pearl Street in Butler on Wednesday, Feb. 21.

The man was flown to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh after sustaining a single gunshot to the face at approximately 4:15 p.m., said Chief Bob O’Neill of the Butler City Police Department on Thursday.

The man, who police described as a Hispanic male, was driven by an associate to Butler Memorial Hospital before being flown to Allegheny General. He was in stable condition as of 3:15 p.m. Thursday, police said.

The crime scene is believed to be in the 300 block of East Pearl Street, O’Neill said. There was a heavy police in the area Wednesday afternoon, which closed the street for a short time.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is requested to call the Butler City police.
