Harmony Short Line Bus relocated in 2008

The Harmony Short Line Bus 775 was restored with the help of the Antique Motor Coach Association of Pittsburgh, whose motor coach fleet will be housed in Portersville for the time being. This summer, the association lost its home in Zelienople because its facility was rented to another tenant. Butler Eagle File Photo

The Antique Motor Coach Association of Pittsburgh, the group responsible for restoring the Harmony Short Line Bus 775, found a new home for its motor coach fleet in Portersville in 2008.

For the preceding three years, the Harmony Short Line Bus 775 and 11 other motor coaches in the collection had been housed in the Schreiber Industrial Park until it was able to get its new garage in Portersville.

The Harmony Short Line System was a direct descendant of the Pittsburgh, Harmony, Butler and New Castle Railroad — the interurban line that opened up the north to Pittsburgh in the early 1900s.

The association had a goal of raising $2,600 per year for each coach retained to store the antique vehicles.
