Charles F. Lamoreaux, 79, of Clay Township, passed away the evening of Sunday, Feb. 18, 2024, after a short illness.

Born on Sept. 8, 1944, on the family farm in Clay Township, he was the son of the late Charles E. Lamoreaux and late Jane A. (Hoffman) Lamoreaux.

Charles was a former member of the St. Louis Catholic Church in West Sunbury and was a life member of the National Rifle Association. He worked at Pullman Standard, was a self-employed truck driver for Mayflower and also drove a truck for Servistar. He enjoyed hunting, traveling, and most of all, spending time with his grandkids.

Charles is survived by his wife, Lois J. (Boyer) Lamoreaux, whom he married on July 12, 2014; two daughters, Carla (Tim) Grossman of Waynesburg, Ohio, and Lynda (Ray) Young of New Castle; one son, Charles (Debbie) Lamoreaux Jr. of Blacksburg, Va.; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Dolores Greiner of Plantation, Fla.;,and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one son, Kevin “Red” Lamoreaux; and four sisters.

LAMOREAUX — Family and friends of Charles F. Lamoreaux, who died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2024, will be received for visitation from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at WILLIAM F. YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 132 Main St., West Sunbury. A blessing service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Father Adam Verona, of St. Faustina Parish, officiating.

Burial will follow in West Sunbury Union Cemetery.
